Every year Pineto receives the Blue Flag, an internationally recognised award for the quality and cleanliness of the water.
The shallow and clear sea makes the beach at Pineto particularly suitable for children.
In the waters around the Torre Cerrano you can go snorkelling to discover the remains of an ancient roman port, an interesting area of marine biology. A clear sea with a Blue Flag means you can go diving and take underwater photographs, and you can also go sailing, hire canoes or pedalos.
For those who love swimming, each year at the beginning of July, the Spatangus group organise a sporting event to show solidarity; a non-competititve race for anyone who wants to compete against others in a swim along a little more than 3 nautical miles (around 7km), the distance that exists between the Fratello Cluster platform and the beach in front.
